I often make roasted potatoes in the oven with thyme and as a snack for the evenings spent with friends. We mostly like new potatoes with peel but the old ones are OK too.
Everything is done in one tray, avoiding the nasty smell in the house. All we need is potatoes, salt, pepper, thyme and a little oil. For the dressing, I recommend a garlic mash.
How do we prepare the potatoes?
Wash the potatoes. I had old potatoes but with very thin skin. I soaked the potatoes in water and cleaned them with an abrasive sponge which I use only for potatoes. Then we cut the potatoes in rounds with a thickness of 1.5-2 cm.
After this step, we place the potatoes in the tray. I salted them and peppered them lightly and sprinkled over the thyme. I have thyme in the garden but it is ok with dry thyme. Then lightly spray with oil and shake the pan so that the oil reaches under the potatoes.
How long do you need to cook the potatoes?
The potatoes are placed in the preheated oven at 200 ° C and left for 30 minutes.
Now turn them to the other side and leave for another 10 minutes at 200 ° C. We test them with a fork. Depending on the oven, it may take an additional 10-15 minutes to bake. The idea is for them to be crunchy on the outside and soft, creamy on the inside.
