Easy and delicious strawberry crumble
The berry season it’s here and this is a good reason to make an easy and delicious fruit crumble. It takes just a few minutes to prepare everything! When this crumble goes into the oven it almost immediately makes your house smell amazing! Once the strawberries are syrupy and bubbling, and our crumble is light brown, we pull it from the oven. Is it as simple as it sounds and the best part is that you can enjoy this recipe as a breakfast or as a delicious dessert.
The easy and delicious strawberry crumble is a recipe that you can adapt according to what you have in your home. Don’t have brown sugar? You can replace it with white sugar or even honey. Do you want to be vegan? Instead of butter you can use coconut butter.
1 kg of fresh strawberries
2 teaspoons cornstarch (or flour)
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 tablespoon brown sugar (you can add more or less depending on how sweet the strawberries are)
50 g flour
50 g oatmeal
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon brown sugar
50g cold butter
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C. Meanwhile, wash and cut the strawberries and after that put them in a ceramic bowl or tray.
Add the cornstarch, vanilla essence, sugar, a tablespoon of water and mix everything well.
To obtain the crumble, mix all the ingredients in a bowl and smash the pieces of butter with your fingers. Now it’s time to add the crumble over the strawberries.
Put in the oven at 180 ° C for 30 minutes or until the crumble turns to light brown.
Serve this dessert while it is hot. If you want to be more special, you can add pudding or vanilla ice cream. But, be careful, because everything may be eaten until the time you take the ice cream out of the freezer!
