Pizza is a dish very popular in the world and it has many variants, besides the classic Italian (traditional). And mini pizzas (pizzette) are an adaptation especially made for children. Mini pizzas can be made with cheese, ham, mushrooms, corn, onions, peppers or other vegetables.
Children, in general, are happy if we make mini-preparations, being very excited when there is something special created for them. Besides their small and cute form, making pizzette can be transformed into a family activity. Kids will enjoy making the small pizza dough with their hands.
I prepared them various ingredients in small bowls and they chose their own topping: tomato sauce for pizza, slices of onion, slices of mushrooms and peppers, corn kernels, olives, grated cheese (mozzarella). They didn’t want ham or salami so they turned out some mini vegetarian pizza. The little ones were very happy!
You can apply this technique for adult parties (pizza party) too: prepare the dough and various toppings and each one creates his own pizza. Do it yourself pizza.
For the dough
250 g flour
10 g fresh yeast or 3 g dry
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons oil
175 ml of water
1 teaspoon old
For the topping:
For the dough, we mix the warm water with the yeast and the sugar, then add the oil, flour and salt. Knead the dough for 4-5 minutes (by hand or at the robot) and leave it to stand for 30 minutes in a warm place, in a bowl covered with plastic foil. After dosing, it is divided into about 6 parts of approx. 70 g each. You can make 8 mini pizzas thinner if you want.
I have flattened all the dough balls by hand so that it has a round shape of approx. 10-12 cm in diameter. On each, I put about a tablespoon of tomato sauce (simple or flavored with oregano, basil and garlic). Without sauce, some dry pies would come out. Then the children put what they wanted: corn kernels, mushrooms, onions, peppers. They sprinkled with grated cheese, grated mozzarella.
Like any pizza or bread dough, the mini pizzas are baked at high temperatures: 220-230 ° C (heat up + down + ventilation) or on the high level of gas ovens. Baking takes about 10-12 minutes (depending on the oven).
